In a Garden in China,” is a colourful story based upon the Chinese tale of The Willow Pattern Plate. This powerful play was brought to life by Year 5 students on the 11th February. The story follows the protagonist Koong-Se, daughter of the corrupt Mandarin, and her pursuit of true love and happiness, in opposition to her father’s aspiration for status and wealth.
Last term we had a special mission to help an explorer find the missing characters from her story.
Children at Dame Bradbury's were treated to a wonderfully entertaining talk by local author Anne Marie Howell whose latest novel, The House of One Hundred Clocks, has been published recently.
Pupils at Dame Bradbury’s linked their learning habits of collaboration and creativity to create posters about staying safe online during their House assembly on 19 February.
On the afternoon of 14 February, the Senior School Hall was a hive of activity as Years 1 & 2 presented their production of “The Bee Musical”. There was a real buzz of excitement as the lights dimmed and the production got under way. The audience were treated to an un-bee-lievable performance with colourful costumes and fantastically confident singing, acting and dancing. Well done to everyone that was involved!
Rosedale House and Dame Bradbury's enjoyed a choral masterclass from internationally renowned choirmaster, Dominic Ellis Peckham.

We were delighted to welcome Dame Bradbury's parent Mr Joe Rich to Year 6 this week to hear about his life as a politician - and a senior barrister - on both a local and national level.
A day of animal related activities to support Sutherland House's chosen charity - The Blue Cross Animal Rehoming Centre - raised a staggering £700.25.
It was a beautiful sunny day at Latham Road for the 2019 Year 6 & 7 collaborative transition event. It all began for Year 6 pupils, from both Dame Bradbury’s and the Junior School, meeting up for an amazing tennis tournament.
As part of their thematic learning topic ‘Scavengers and Settlers’ and to prepare for the Bushcraft residential, 4B started a four week forest school unit.
On Sunday 19 May, the sports department at Dame Bradbury’s, in collaboration with the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), held the first ever Family Fun Run for Dame Bradbury’s pupils and families. Held at the Carver Barracks the event raised money for Cancer Research UK and EACH (East Anglia Children’s Hospice).
SPF Kindergarten children joined together for a very successful Forest School morning at Dame Bradbury’s on Monday 29 April.
On Friday 10 May, Year 4 students from across the Foundation experienced a fascinating and educational visit to West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village & Country Park.
Many congratulations to Amelie in Year 5, whose poems have been included in the most recent edition of "The Writer's Room".
