We know how difficult it can be to live away from home for the first time, especially when you’re in a new country. So what can you expect when you live and board at Stephen Perse Cambridge?
“Living and studying in the UK prepares you for what’s to come, it’s a step above, so that when you go to university you are prepared, comfortable and settled.”
“
You’ll live a short walk or cycle away from teaching buildings, giving you the freedom and space to relax and study in a different environment in the evenings. Our boarding house is close to the city centre and train station too, giving you all the independence that you need at weekends and helping you to start every new week feeling ready and refreshed.
We have over 30 nationalities studying with us at Stephen Perse Cambridge, many of whom also live with us. So you’ll be part of a truly international community.
Our boarders have an additional advantage when it comes to English Language learning. By socialising with other people your age from all over the world in the evenings and at weekends, you’ll be helping each other learn and developing a shared global outlook.
Living away from home, we know that you need a safe and supportive environment to live in. But we also know that you need more freedom than younger students. We can offer both these things, because our boarding houses are tailored to the Years 11-13 (1-year IGCSE and A Levels) experience.
We provide a comfortable, secure environment that feels like a home from home. Our boarding campus is staffed by our knowledgeable, friendly and trained boarding house staff. However, we also help you develop the independence you need to thrive at university and beyond. It’s the perfect balance of freedom and support.
You’ll have teacher-supervised evening study sessions to help you get the most from your studies, and you’ll have plenty of freedom at weekends to relax and explore Cambridge or even London. We even organise trips and events to help you make the most of what Cambridge has to offer.
Cambridge is a world-famous student city. It’s also one of the safest cities in the UK, providing the ideal setting for you to develop as a student and as an individual.
Cambridge has helped to shape the world as we know it - from Sir Isaac Newton to the discovery of the structure of DNA by Crick and Watson. It’s home to two universities and some of the UK’s leading science and technology firms, including ARM and AstraZeneca. Inspiration is never far away!
There’s always something to get involved in, from music concerts and sports matches to free lectures and university museums. Cambridge is also one of the best shopping destinations in the UK, and it boasts a lot of great independent and chain restaurants.
Cambridge is also a very green city, which means there are many beautiful parks and green spaces on your doorstep. So you’ll be able to find plenty of peaceful spots to read and relax, and bigger parks such as Parker’s Piece to play football and other sports in.
“Living in the centre of Cambridge provides opportunities to access the University of Cambridge facilities, such as museums, talks, and libraries. It also provides the opportunity to participate in events such as the Cambridge Festival and the Mill Road Winter Fair. I enjoyed going to these events as they have given me valuable knowledge and experience.”
“
If Cambridge isn’t enough to keep you busy, you’re just 50 minutes away from London by train. So at weekends you can experience the best of the UK’s culture, taking in the sights and sounds of England’s capital city (with the permission of your parents/guardians and the Head of Boarding).
There are plenty of other opportunities to experience the best of British culture. We arrange regular evening and weekend trips and events for our boarding students, both in Cambridge and further afield. We are committed to giving you the best possible experience of living and learning in the UK.
